Obituary of William Daniel O'Hara
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Thursday January 2nd, 2025 William (Bill) Daniel O'Hara, age 69, of New Glasgow passed away peacefully at the Aberdeen Hospital with family surrounding him.
Born in Antigonish on March 9th, 1955, he was the son of Lester O'Hara and the late Theresa O'Hara (nee Cameron).
He leaves behind three daughters: Michelle Bailey (Mike); Melissa Bailey-O'Hara (James); and Jennifer Bailey (Shawn). Two grandchildren: Weston and Eli. Sisters: Edna Poirier and Sheila O'Hara (Billy). Brothers: Nelson O'Hara and Sonny O'Hara. Nieces, nephew, cousins and other extended family.
Bill was always a hard worker with many of his years spent working in the asphalt industry. He also worked as a truck driver. In later years he drove taxi and started his own taxi business, Bill's Taxi.
Although he worked hard, he also made sure to enjoy life with his family and friends. If you knew Bill then you knew he loved the Boston Bruins. He usually had at least one piece of clothing on with a Bruins logo proudly showing. When he wasn’t cheering for Boston, Bill could be found in his gardens which he took great pride in.
Bill was predeceased by his mother Theresa, sister Patricia O'Hara, and brother Glen O'Hara.
Special thanks to Bills neighbour and best friend Rob and his partner Shawna for everything they have done for him over the years. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, January 19th at North End Recreation Centre from 1-3pm.
