Obituary of Allison Christine Kearley

Please share a memory of Allison to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we share that our shining light has gone home to be with God. Allison Kearley (Lynch) was born March 1, 1978 and came into the world with a spark like no other. She was a loving wife, mother, Grandmother daughter, aunt teacher and community leader. Allison was an extremely proud Stellarton Warrior, and she exemplified every part of being a warrior. After being diagnosed with cancer she didn’t give in and let it break her spirit or bring her down. Instead, she faced it with a fierce determination to beat it. Along the way her spirit of Hope transcended to her whole community through the EXCEL program she attended and raved about to everyone who was newly diagnosed with cancer. She would reach out and make them want to come and be part of a community of warriors taking on the scariest nemesis of the world. She believed in it so much she was asked to attend a psycho oncology summit in Calgary so everyone knew how beneficial it was to help them in their battle against cancer. Allison’s role as a teacher was more than just being a teacher. She loved her students like they were her own. Her biggest dream was to be a teacher in her hometown school GR Saunders, her first school when she began her life of learning. She would go out of her way to make sure her students got everything they needed and have every opportunity they could imagine. Teaching wasn’t her job, it was her heart and soul. She loved all her students more than they could ever imagine and if she had to stay late or even go in after hours to ensure they got everything to reach their full potential, she did it. Allison was a very compassionate woman who looked out for everyone and was usually leading the way to support all who needed her. She was instrumental in creating a solid foundation for the autism NS Pictou County Chapter and the creation of their many programs with the swim program being at the top of her list. Ensuring the safety of all kids with ASD this mission was top priority to help ease parents and their little ones. This passion led her right into one of the biggest and most rewarding volunteer opportunities that brought more happiness than one could imagine. She became the coach of the special Olympics swim team where she met so many incredible people whom she loved dearly. She coached them with so much love and competitive spirit in a way that made them work hard just because they loved her as much as she loved them. Allison had a huge love of soccer playing her whole scholastic career. She even got the opportunity through Special Olympics to go to Toronto as a soccer coach for the 50th anniversary of the Youth special Olympics games. Allison wasn’t a baseball fan but that didn’t stop her from becoming a challenger baseball coach. In fact it was perfect for her because you didn’t have to be good at playing baseball you just had to be good at helping athletes have fun. It was also another volunteer opportunity she took on to help make something new become an established community organization. Her biggest accomplishment in baseball is when she was a big part in bringing 100 people from Pictou County challenger Baseball to Toronto for the Jayscare National Jamboree. There were many parents afraid to take on such a big trip but Allison’s calming presence and her exceptional ability to plan things in a way that everyone knew things would be ok made them trust that their family trip of a lifetime would be perfect. Allison will be missed by her loving husband Trevor Kearley, children Nick (Melissa Tufts), Jessica and Emily. Granddaughter Lily, parents Ron and Peggy Lynch, Bother Jason Lynch (Tara Carruthers), many Aunts, Uncle’s, Nieces, Nephews and cousins. Allison was predecessor by her grandparents Papa and Grandma (Dickson and Gladys Lynch), Grampy and Nanny (John and Margaret Goodall). Visitation will be Thursday, October 10 from 7-9pm, Friday, October 11 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel in Stellarton. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 11 at 11:00am at the Sharon St John Church in Stellarton with Reverend Jun-Hyok Chon officiating. Family flowers only.
