We were so sorry to hear of Allison’s passing. She was an amazing person. She was both of my children’s favourite teacher at G.R. Saunders and a wonderful swim coach to one of my HCRS participants. She will truly be missed.

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Allison?
A: Allison made you feel like you knew each other for a long time since the first time you met! There were never awkward moments of silence when you were around her, she genuinely wanted to get to know you! I realized since I met her that family was the most important thing to Allison, especially her kids! Allison, thank you for treating Jorja as your adopted daughter and us as your extended family and for allowing Em to be part of ours.

The cancer society invited Allison to speak this year 2024 in Calgary and she and Trevor stayed with us in Calgary and in our home in Invermere, B.C. in the beautiful mountains which they both experienced for the first time! We took them to the natural hot springs, up to the top of Mount Swansea, hiking Johnson's Canyon and so much more. She was so excited and wanted to do everything! We love you Allison! Patti and all family west. xxoo

Allison was responsible for the Stellarton warriors having won more games than her teammates could realize. Her contagious happiness and continued positivity and determination despite the opposing team advantage, had a way of generating team synergy, focus and triumph for the win. During the year that I had the pleasure of being her teacher and assistant soccer coach, I witnessed her leadership skills and her ability to rally people together and bring them to believe in themselves and each other. Her kindness and empathetic way brought out the best in those around her. I was not surprised she chose a career in teaching and am sure she has left her students and colleagues with many lessons learned and has impacted their lives in a positive way. My deepest condolences to those she held dear and near in her heart. - Elana

I will never EVER forget a run Allison and I had back in 2020. At the time we were committed to running 5k together multiple times a week. On this random evening. It began to rain, then severely thunder storm. However we still did it! We laughed and laughed and were soo soaked. I visited Allison a week or two prior to her passing, and I chatted with her about this time. All she had to say to me was “hilarious” with a little grin. I am forever grateful for all the memories we have had.

You instantly made me and my family feel so welcomed, we attended the Magic Valley trips, which my son loved. Thank you Allison for being you! Fly high beautiful angel!

Q: How did you meet Allison?
A: It seems like I’ve always known Allison. From middle school until now, our lives crossed paths many times from our days in school, to teaching my son, from years of Sunday School, to coaching her daughter on the ice. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Allison met a truly kind soul. She was one of the most caring, positive, individuals I’ve ever known.
I had no idea this would be our last Christmas together. Trevor and Allison hosted a family Christmas movie night at Sharon St. John for the Sunday School in the Church Hall. Your kindness will live on through your wonderful family. Hugs to them all! xo Sheri
