When we settled in Marshdale in 1949, William was one of the guys I got to know after I learned to speak English. Great friend whom I later went to school with in Hopewell. Best to his family.

Bill and Winnie were great neighbours on Lakeview Avenue. Bill was always generous with his time and advice, which was sound and well appreciated. We still have artifacts in our family from his time next door; including paving stones from downtown Halifax and my oldest son’s first deer rifle.
Our condolences to the Cameron family.

Dear Winnifred,
I would like to express my most sincere sympathies to you and your family. I have wonderful memories of William when we were both teenagers living in Marshdale. William, ( as we called him back then), was a kind, considerate, generous neighbour and friend. We shared many laughs and great conversations during the countless lifts he gave me and my brothers up and down the old dusty, gravel Marshall road in his Willy’s jeep. Rest in peace my old friend.

Myself and my wife were driving around one day several years ago looking for a piece of water front property and we came upon a private for sale sign on the Dean Settlement road, so we drove up the Lake Crest Drive Road and we met Bill on the road and he introduced himself, Hi I'm Bill ,who are you and what are you doing here . The rest is history and we have being great friends from that day on. Bill will be dearly missed.

Our sincere Condolences to Winifred, Alison, Heather, son-in-laws and grandchildren. Bill will be forever missed on our lake. He was always ready to help his neighbours with snow removal, wood working or lend you a tool you didn’t have. His repeated words to me were, “if you need anything drop down”. Glad I got to sing a couple of Newfoundland songs for him this summer. Rest In Peace Bill!
