Sandy I am so very sorry to read of Marion's death this morning. I met Marion when I returned to Nova Scotia and we both worked at Health and Welfare Canada, and later friends during our crafting years. Marion was a great friend who provided great company when my husband died many years ago and we continued our friendship many years later during her Sunday morning visits to Sunnyside Mall where I would sell crafts and we would sit and talk for hours. I missed talking to her since Mel died which I will regret not picking up the phone and calling her but like all others I thought we had lots of time. It seems she went suddenly without suffering and that is a blessing, but I know how close you and her were and that you will miss her terribly. My heart and soul go out to you in your tremendous loss. May Marion RIP and join the love of her life with the Angels. With the greatest sympathy Sadie

Marion and Mel rented our cottage for the summer in 1981. The next year they bought the cottage across the road. So began 40 + years of cards and games, sociables and cookouts. Marion was a great neighnbour , friend to my departed wife Aileen , my sisters and mother. Lots of laughs and good times. My condolences to her sister Sandy and the MacKenzie clan. She will be missed.

Doug and I met Marion & Mel in 1970 & instantly became Great friends. We had fun when we built our houses ( laughs & Tears ) in Sackville . We will never forget those days.!!! Marion and I went to sewing classes - there Marion had the laugh of her life- I had to sew in a hidden zipper and when teacher came to me I couldn't find it - I sewed it in the leg of my pants well that did it for Marion- she laughed so hard she was crying !!!! I will think of you often Marion and will miss your calls but hope we meet again down the Road . BFF Fran xoxo

Marion was kind person. I rarely saw her without a smile. She was a dear friend to my mom Jeanette Brown, walking buddies. She and Mel were so delighted to have their home in Pictou Landing, wishing they had built it years ago. I enjoyed my visits, they always were welcoming. Tom and I extend our sincere condolences to her dear sister, and her extended family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Marion for most of my life . It was in Pictou Landing that I visited her and spent many happy hours together. I have lovely pieces of her craft work, as do my daughters . Most recently she painted Christmas ornaments for each of my grandsons. A memory that really stands out is a trip to PEI with Marion and my young daughters and their Grammie ( Jeanette Brown) to see Anne of Green Gables and the musical in Charlottetown.
Always laughing , with a warm hug , Marion was a strong and caring woman.
