June and Rae Campbell posted a condolence

Isabel and children and grandchildren, Debbie and David. Rae and I would like to send you our deepest sympathy in the passing of Stephen. We were so sad when we heard. What a precious man he was! I (June) have such wonderful memories of Stephen. One of my favorites was when he was staying with my mom and dad, (Kay and Gordan Walker) and it was his birthday. He had just received a parcel in the mail from Isabel and the children. It was full of homemade cards his children made him. The smile on his face was precious. I asked him what he got, he said" birthday cards from my family. The homemadey kind, the best ones of all!" He took his time looking at each one and commenting something special about each child's picture. It was evident he loved his family more than anything in the world. Our daughter Cindy-Marie had a very special love for Stephen. He was her favorite family member!
One thing I can say about Stephen, is I never saw him grumpy or without a smile. We loved him dearly.
What wonderful memories he has left in all of us to remember.

I met Stephen for the first time 10 years ago when I moved to his neck of the woods. His reputation had preceded him. When we met, all the nice things I had heard about him were confirmed. I have never heard a bad word ever spoken of the man from anyone. I have come to know his family and the apple does not fall far from the tree, all good people like their Dad! I will remember the pleasant conversations and funny stories with a smile.. I'm only sorry I had not known him longer, but his likeness will sure carry on with his kids. May God bless his wonderful family with strength, and may he rest in peace until we all meet again in our heavenly home!

Memories - Where to begin, Stephen you were the life of the party, loyal to the end, faithful and committed to your family most of all. You offered a helping hand to others when they asked and sometimes when they didn't. You raised your family in a sensible no nonsense style. Our families spent a lot of time together so picking and choosing just a single memory is very difficult. We supported one another when we had to and partied when times were good. I'll raise a glass (of milk) in honor of your friendship. Isabel, Myra, Leandre, Dylan, Blake, Matthew, Kelly, Savannah, Christopher, Crystal, Abigail, Garrett, Kimberly, Clint, Carson, Alex, Adam and Francis, God got it right when he placed you in your parents hands. Take care, know that we love you. Love Uncle Jim and Aunt Maureen.
