Our family was saddened to hear of Margaret's passing. In Margaret's own quiet way she always welcomed us when we visited the farm. Summertime fireworks and bonfires filled with laughter are fond memories for the kids and I. Margaret's interest in history and her skills as a researcher gifted the Porter family tremendous insight into 200 years of the family tree, Our thoughts are with Margaret's family and friends at this time.

Bobby and all the family !
So sorry for your loss of such a special person.
We treasure our fond memories of our fun times with Margie and Bobby … either playing cards or the dances at West Pictou. Margie and I traveled to Trenton together to learn the art of playing bridge ….. she loved that game too.
I know you will all miss her dearly.
Love and God Bless
Herbie & Jo-Lynn

I knew Margaret in school as Catherine’s sister. But later she saw me regularly for massage therapy.
What was particularly remarkable about Margaret was that she had a photographic memory. If. She saw something her mind seemed to record it. She graduated from Nursing having missed a lot of time as she was sick with mono but with her brilliant mind she was able to still pass the exams.
I remember asking her when the visitation was for someone we both knew who had passed. She said give me a minute and she was able to go into her mind to summon up the news clipping which she had read once! What a mind! Which is doubly sad how her health declined in the last few years.
Rest in Peace Margaret.

Dearest Catherine,
Please accept my sympathies on the passing of your sister Margaret. I was pleased to work with Margaret on the planning committee for the Alma & area Kiosk. Margaret was also very helpful to me in my genealogy research for my mother’s great grandparents, George & Christian Ross. She willingly shared photos of them and allowed me to have copies . I will forever be grateful to her for giving me that glimpse into the past.
Cherish all the memories you Holley girls made as sisters and friends. Tell your stories; share your love .
