It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of John Charles Harb age 83 of Abercrombie on Wednesday Nov. 8,2023 in the Aberdeen Hospital ,New Glasgow surrounded by his family. Born in New Glasgow he was the son of the late Charles and Josephine (MacKay) Harb. John was a member of the Black Watch and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He retired from Sobey’s as a meat cutter after many years of service. John enjoyed the outdoors maintaining his property. John is survived by his wife the former Frances (Fraser), a son John Charles Jr. (Marit Baldwin) of B.C., a daughter Connie Diane Burke (Michael Jamieson) of Abercrombie, two grandchildren David Mitchell Burke and Sarah Jean Burke. Also surviving are a brother Wayne (Marcella) of Stellarton ,sisters Shirley Zahara ,Alberta ,Connie Durbes of Weymouth, Mass. ,Zeana Macleod of Abercrombie, sister-in-law Dorothy Harb of Trenton ,several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by brothers Charlie and Nagzie ,a sister Marie Harb and brother-in-law Bob MacLeod .Cremation to take place, no visitation or service by request. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
