Manmohan Kumar "Mike" Sood Obituary

Manmohan Kumar Sood “Mike”

We are broken hearted to share the loss of an amazing man. Manmohan (Mike) Sood, 87, of Abercrombie, NS, passed away on Tuesday, November 7th after a brief battle with Covid. Moni, as he was affectionately known, was born on November 22, 1935, in Kisumu, Kenya. At the age of 34, he immigrated to Canada with his young family, eventually locating in Pictou County. He was so proud to call Pictou County his home. He appreciated how this community had opened its doors to him, and made his family feel so welcome and included. In 2001, Mike retired from Trenton Works after a long and fulfilling career.

Mike leaves behind Usha, his best friend and loving wife of 60 years. He is also survived by his son, Vivek (Stephanie), and daughter, Deepa. He was most proud of his grandchildren, Jaya and Riley (Jacob Newman), and his legacy will live on in them

The family would like to thank the many friends and family who have provided their support, kind messages, and love through this difficult time. We would also like to thank the fabulous team at the Aberdeen Hospital’s Intensive Care and Palliative Care Units. We are so fortunate to have these wonderful services here in Pictou County.

There will be no visitation or funeral service at Mike’s request. Donations in his memory can be made to the Pictou County Food Bank.
