Sincere condolences on the passing of your Mum. It has been a difficult year for your family. Your parents left a great legacy with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When David and Faye lived on MacLean Street in New Glasgow when their children Janis and Paul were little our back yards met. We lived on Forbes Street. I remember Janis liked to take the key from our back door so when it was missing Janis usually had it. Sheila (Brown) Chisholm.

My fondest memory of Faye was at the rehearsal dinner of Mat & Jen..
My husband Gaston had become somewhat handicapped and in a quiet elegant way Faye made sure he had wine in his glass and his needs were not overlooked.

My. Husband and I lived in New Glasgow for 5 years and became close friends of Faye and Dave. My husband died in June and Dave and Janice came to his funeral. We kept our friendship over the years and saw each other often, We have fond memories of meals together and trips to the Saint Mary's river where Larry and Dave fished and Faye and I hung out and walked our golden retriever. Faye took a great liking to my third baby boy and loved to come to our house and cuddle him. I wish I could post a picture but I am in the middle of moving and don't know which album they are in. or which box of photos.

Faye and David came to dinner at our house on Bell Street with my parents, Tom and Edie McEwan, in June 2003. It was a lovely evening…and David was getting wound up with stories after dinner when Faye said “David…enough of you…we’re going home.” She was very polite and courteous …and David was immediately compliant. David was my boss…but on that one occasion at least…Faye ruled. Each time we were together with the two of them I was awestruck by their kindness to each other. A special couple, for sure.

To Janice, Paul and families
I was so deeply saddened to read your moms obituary. She was one of the sweetest, sincere,knowledgeable,polite and a "true lady" in every sense of the word.I had the the upmost privilege of being her hairdresser for over 30 years.We shared many conversations over the years.From listening how her and your dad met on the steps of Dalhousie (mother making sure she got her degree before they married) sharing the same name and both being June brides.I only hope I brought her joy as she did me.I will truly miss our visits even as they changed over the years in capacity.She still had Betty Davis eyes( as my father would say during his time of president of the lions Club) and that beautiful smile and gentle way she possessed. Rest now in the arms of your darling David and I hope all if your family will find peace that you and David have the "notebook" ending.
