Robert “Bob” Ernest Sinclair passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 27th, 2023. Bob is the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Macumber) Sinclair.
Bob’s childhood was spent in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. He loved all sports as both a talented athlete and an avid spectator and shared his love of sports throughout his teaching career. Bob began teaching in Chester, NS and taught for over 30 years in various locations including Schefferville, QC, Liverpool, NS, Bridgewater, NS, and Poplar River, MB. It was during his time in Schefferville that he met fellow teacher, Terry-Ann Hillman, his loving wife for over 54 years. Together they settled on the South Shore of Nova Scotia where they raised their family and Bob spent over 20 years teaching at Park View Education Centre. Throughout these years he dedicated countless hours as both a teacher and a coach, making lasting impressions on each student he interacted with. He was a coach of many sports but will be remembered for coaching high school athletes on the basketball court.
A family man, Bob thought the world of his children and granddaughters who he treasured dearly. The fondest memories were created while spending his summers on Brazil Lake in his home county of Yarmouth, NS. The camp at Brazil Lake was a gathering place for family and friends who all have memories of happy times there each summer. He was extremely proud of his children and his grandchildren; they are his legacy.
Bob is survived by his wife Terry-Ann; children Trevor (Jackie), Ann (Bill), Jane (Shane) and Kathryn; grandchildren Mackenzie, Kennedy, Laura, Piper, Emily, and Jenna; sister Marjorie Ritcey. He was predeceased by his daughter Beth Ann.
Bob will be sadly missed by his family and friends; Leslie Bairstow, and loving dog Lou.
