Luddington, Angela Donice, age 59, passed away unexpectantly on Wednesday, August 9th, 2023, in the Aberdeen Hospital surrounded by her family and close friends. Angela was born in New Glasgow, NS and was the daughter of Avard and Ruby Luddington, both of Stellarton. It is with deep sorrow that the family announce the loss of a beloved mother, youngest sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Angela was raised in her hometown and always a proud Stellarton girl. She would eventually return later in life to raise her only daughter, Amelia. She was a Class of 1982 SHS graduate and a classmate that no one could ever forget, involved in as many groups and activities as possible. She later attended St. Mary’s University before moving to Toronto where she enjoyed her big city years immensely. She later moved back to Halifax and held positions at Moosehead Brewery and Dalhousie University before taking a leave from work to raise her newborn daughter. She later resided in Truro before returning to her roots and locating permanently in her hometown where she worked at Convergys’s for many years. Angela rekindled many local friendships and was a very active and engaged friend with many.
As the youngest sister of 5 Angie was a tad bit spoiled but an extremely loyal family member. She kept in touch regularly with everyone and loved her parents, sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family members with great sincerity and affection. She especially loved family gatherings and often was the first one there, placing great importance on these events and her appreciation of family. Angie grieved the loss of her parents deeply and it provides the family comfort knowing they are finally together again.
Angela was a fan of all things sparkly, pink and flowery. She loved disco music, a good series on TV, and reminiscing about the past. She loved travelling and did much of it when her daughter was younger, especially enjoying cruising. She was quick witted, extremely animated, and often left whomever she was with in tears from laughter. Outside of this exterior, Angela was a deeply caring person, sensitive, and concerned for the people close to her.
Angela was a proud Christian as well and knew Jesus. Her faith sustained her and she leaned on it often.
Her greatest joy in life was being a mother. Amelia was her pride and joy, her primary focus, her daughter and friend. It was a special relationship that will be dearly missed but forever present as Amelia continues forward in her life.
Angela is survived by her daughter Amelia Steeves, Stellarton; her sisters Lois (Murray) Lavender, Waterside; Shirley (Blaine) Yerxa, Eden Lake; Brenda (Brad) Murray, Kings Head; Ruth Trefry, Westville. Nieces Shana, Michelle, Lisa, Brandy and Elizabeth, nephews Michael, Ave and Matthew; several extended family members across the province and of course her wide circle of friends too numerous to mention individually.
She was predeceased by her parents Avard and Ruby Luddington.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of H.C. MacQuarries Funeral Home, Stellarton.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 3-5pm and 7-9pm on Saturday, Aug 12th
