Obituary of Geraldine Ann Hamm

Geraldine Ann Hamm, age 81, of Brookside, NS passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023 in the comfort of her home with her devoted caretaker and friend, Tanya by her side. Born in New Glasgow she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Irene (Cameron) Hamm. Geraldine was a graduate of King’s University and went on to have a career in education teaching in schools in St. John, Halifax and Truro retiring in 1995. Her love of travel also brought her to Australia for 1 year of teaching experience early in her career. Gerry spent some years in Balmoral while teaching in Truro before settling into a home she built in Brookside after retirement. She is survived by her brother John (Genesta) Hamm; nephew John C. (Wendy) Hamm and their children Sara, Emily and Megan; nephew Jeffrey Hamm and his children Genesta Lee and Gregor; niece Jennifer (Jim) Taylor and their children Liam and John Luke. We would like to thank “Gerry’s” friends for the years filled with laughter, travel, bridge games and the support given over the years. Special thanks to Sue Ellen, lifelong friend, for her daily phone calls as they always brought a smile and comfort to Gerry. Ros, Adrien and Eleanor, thank you for going the extra mile in her time of need. We are grateful for your thoughtfulness.
