Obituary of Joanne Elizabeth Willoughby

Joanne Elizabeth Willoughby – Cameron Settlement Joanne Elizabeth Willoughby, passed away suddenly at the Aberdeen Hospital New Glasgow, on July 30, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Halifax on May 1, 1974 she was a daughter of David and Elizabeth (Knox) Foggoa. Joanne was a very compassionate person, she loved hearing about others’ lives and families. Joanne was truly selfless as she always thought of everyone else first, always made others smile, laugh, feel important and loved. She had a passion for animals, especially dogs and always talked about her pups. All who met and knew Joanne will have the same thoughts of how special Joanne was; family and friends were the most important things in her life. She loved living in other places in Canada but always wanted to come home to Nova Scotia, to be by all her loved ones, the Maritimes were always home. Joanne loved the outdoors, scrap booking or just cuddling in front of the tv. She had a passion for life, exploring and trying new things, and was not ashamed to live with her heart, she always found the positive in all things. Joanne met her loving husband Colin of 19 years in 2001, they knew right away that they were meant for each other, married in a year and loved a lifetime. Joanne was very devoted mother to her children Mallory Willoughby (29), son Eric (25), granddaughter Aleena Willoughby; brother Shawn (Lisa) Foggoa. When her granddaughter Aleena was born Joanne always loved being with her, doing anything from reading, playing, taking her to ballet, hanging out or face timing with each other. A celebration of life in memory of Joanne will be held at a later date.
