When we first met Joanne and Colin they became instant family. Joanne had so much compassion for the elderly. She showed us all how we should treat others by her actions. When you met up with her, it was her smile that stood out and calmness of her voice that put you at ease. She truly will be missed.

Joanne, how grateful we are to receive your heart of love on numerous occasions, as others have experienced as well. Truly noted your love for family, friends or someone in need! God gifted all of us with your big HEART.
You became an important close friend to our Mike when we moved to Humber Park in 1979. He would have been 6 years old then and we learned you both loved animals and it was both your plans to become vets at such a young age! A treasured time indeed for all of us and your family.
Who would have thought retirement would bring us to live in Caledonia when visiting your Mom in Dad in Lower Caledonia and we thank God this has happened. And again we have been so blessed when you, Colin, Mallory and Eric moved to our community as well. We will miss you tremendously and will always give our love back to you and family.

Losing one of the most kind hearted, caring, genuine, silly, and most importantly one of the most amazing humans anyone could have ever met, is one of the hardest feelings someone can go through. Joanne brought so much life and laughter anywhere she went and I’m truly going to miss seeing her beautiful face when I go home to visit, but most importantly her big bear hugs. I’ll forever be grateful I made it back to PEI summer of 2022 and got to spend much needed time with her before God called her home a year later. The memories of her always loving and complimenting my children will always live in my heart forever. She was and forever will be one of the most amazing cousins I could have ever asked for. Joanne was a warm-hearted spirited individual who absolutely adored and cared deeply for her family. She was the life of the party without needing attention. Even through her illnesses she was able to have fun. Joanne’s beauty shone from the inside-out. She leaves a legacy to be proud of and will be dearly missed.

I have so many wonderful memories of Joanne, all of which are full of love & laughter. Our friendship began at age 15 & we saw each other grow, watched & loved each of our families grow. One beautiful quality, out of many, that Joanne had was always making you feel loved & important. Her ability to turn any negative into a positive always amazed me. Laughing with her was inevitable, there was never a conversation that didn’t involve vast amounts of laughter. Joanne… our beautiful new Angel. Such amazing childhood memories in Humber Park. We laughed, we played, we got into mischief. Mostly, we were like family- my “other”sister! Although time and distance throughout the years meant less time in her presence, when I did see Jo, it was like no time passed at all. That’s the truest friendship. My thoughts and prayers for all of the family.

Gary and I had the privilege to get to know Joanne over the past years. Our hearts go out to the entire family. Joanne was truly a gem, us girls (Donna, Joanne and I) shared lunch in town once and I can say Joanne was one of the most loving, open, caring person I ever met. She also had a great sense of humor. She is truly missed and loved by so many. Rest in peace sweet lady....you are loved.
