It is challenging to narrow down the long list of special memories I have of Nanna to something that will not fill an entire tribute book. Huge family gatherings at her place, usually followed by falling asleep while watching Christmas Vacation (even in the summer). Walks with her and Spock around the neighborhood. Waking up to the smell of her famous orange muffins and knowing it will be a great day. Making her grandkids feel extra special by having their picture on prominent display when they visit (she must have swapped them out…). Skype calls where she marveled at how amazing the times are that we can stay in touch and see each other despite being in different countries. She always welcomed everyone with open arms and hugs so strong they could crush ribs. Her endless supply of positivity and optimism even in her later years is something we can all aspire to. We all love you so much Nanna, and will cherish these memories.

I am so sorry; got the dates mixed up and was so shocked and disappointed when I arrived at the funeral home yesterday and all was quiet: just like Marilyn!
I was Marilyn's hairdresser many years ago ! Always so gracious and kind!
I remember when I left my job in Stellerton way back in the early 1980's and went farming with Veronika on an old country homestead. Marilyn would still come to the country every once in a while have a haircut and we shared a few lunches suppers together during those earlier years.
And then I heard that her memory was failing and the rest is history now; but my cherished memories of her remain intact!
Thinking of you all...

Jackie, "Mumsie" and I going tenting in Cape Breton. Of course it was a gong show. We left late, set up the tent in the pitch dark. Mumsie and I just laughed and let Jackie do the setting up. It was one of the hottest days when we were camping. Getting there the three of us squeezed into the front seat and NO air conditioning. Mumsie laughed all the way trying to calm the both of us down.
I have many fond memories of Marilyn, but this one stands out.
Marilyn, you will never be forgotten in my lifetime. I am thinking of all the family at this time, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My condolences to Marilyn's family. I knew her through Trinity United Church Choir. She sure enjoyed singing! After she moved to Valley View Villa, she would join with the choir any time Trinity did a service there. In fact, I just saw her on July 2nd. The choir members there sat beside Marilyn and she sang with us. May happy memories sustain you in the times ahead.

Chuck , Jackie , Darlene, and David, Nadine and I send our deepest condolences to you all on the passing of your mom.
We had 7 great years living beside your mom . I spent many of my summer mornings having my coffee and her drinking her tea outside on the step. Good morning Marilyn … Good morning Stephen, is how my day started. I think we both really enjoyed our morning conversations . She was always telling me what her kids were up to, where they were living and her countdown to when they were coming to visit.
She was a fantastic lady in the time I got to know her.
Rest easy Marilyn.

I’m so glad my kids got to know Grandma Marilyn. We have cherished every moment knowing her and wish we could’ve had more time and visits. When she first met Lexie she calmed her right now and put her to sleep. Lexie cuddled right into her like she has known her for years.

I have so many wonderful memories of Marilyn I wouldn’t know where to start. There was one day we were walking during lunch hour on a cold blustery day. Marilyn grabbed me by the arm so I wouldn’t blow away. One of my favourite memories is as her memory was failing, although she didn’t remember my name, she would recite a poem :
Make new friends but treasure the old. The former are silver the later are gold. She’s my gold ❤️
