Obituary of Timothy "Tim" Wayne Hayter

Timothy Wayne Hayter, Gairloch was born in New Glasgow June 24, 1957, son of Guy and Ann (Murray) Hayter and passed on June 26, 2023, at the age of 66. This incredibly courageous and generous man with the well-developed and fairly offbeat sense of humour is survived by his wife of 42 years Rosemary (Chennell), siblings Bob (Nancy), Edgil (Sheila), Wally (Lillian), Faith Chaisson, Faye (Bibs), sisters-in-law Betty Ann Chennell, Judy MacIntosh, aunts Elaine MacQuarrie and Cline Marshall Nieces and Nephews – Ruth, Adam, Sarah, Amy, Rebecca, Ronnie, Angie, Tim, Kirstin, Shantara, Tyler, Jeffrey, Jon, Jason, Lee, Kelly and many sweet great nieces and nephews He will be sorely missed by his buddy Ellie our special “border collie mix” pup. He was predeceased by his parents, nephew Graeme, mother and father-in-law Mary & Tom Chennell, brothers-in-law Dave Chaisson, Basil Miller, Dave MacIntosh Tim worked in construction and travelled far and wide during his career as a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 73. He particularly enjoyed his years working in Holyrood Nfld, until his retirement from Babcock & Wilcox in December 2020. He was a member of Western Star Masonic Lodge, Philae Shriners, Scottish Rite, Ceilidh Chapter #10 OES, Westville Curling Club and New Glasgow City Club. There will be no visitation by request. A “drop-in” open house “Celebration of Life” (key word celebration) to be held on Saturday July 15th from 1 to 4 pm at Tim & Rosemary’s home at 357 MacPherson Road, Gairloch. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Sunday July 16th at 11am at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Gairloch, Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow www.angusfuneralhomes.com . Donations in Tim’s memory can be made to Philae Shriners Travel Fund, Pictou County VON, or a charity of choice. Although Tim had no family doctor, he was cared for by some wonderful health care providers – our sincere thanks to his doctors: Dr. O’Sullivan, Dr. Morgan, Dr. Cwajna, Dr. Craig, Dr. Cheryl Smith, Dr. Massero, Dr. Kwasnik and Dr. Horton, and his nurses Debbie Williams Palliative Care RN, Carla Williams, Ostomy RN, all of those special Aberdeen Chemo Clinic nurses, and our VON home care nurses - we never would have managed without their great support. We were also awesomely well looked after by the Aberdeen Hospital Pharmacy staff and David MacLean and the staff at Pharmacy First in Stellarton. “…. Directions to 357 MacPherson Road, Gairloch Take Exit 20 (Pleasant Valley) from the highway. If coming from New Glasgow direction, turn left toward Union Centre or if coming from Halifax/Truro direction, turn right toward Union Centre Go straight for approx. 8 and ½ km, then turn right onto Montreal Road Drive to the end of the pavement, approx. 4 km, then keep to the right on Gairloch Lake Road Drive approx. 2 km, then turn left onto the first road on the left (MacPherson Road) Drive approx. ½ km to the first house on the right – 357 MacPherson Road
