I knew Timmy from West Pictou but I really got to know him when I worked at Scott Maritimes. He worked all the shutdowns at the pulp mill. He was there with all the boilermakers. He was so friendly and full of fun. He was an easy going country boy full of humour and good stories. I am going to miss him. Barb and I would like to give our deepest sympathies to his wife and family.

Tim was one of a kind . He was very generous and caring person. He will be remembered for many things he did .
Tim was well known at the annual Masonic curling bonspiel as a very competitive participant and also for organizing and running this spiel for quite a number of years. There were many bonspiels such as the annual Sydney mixed and annual “summer spud spiel “ in PEI that will always be cherished .
The cruise we took together, although he labelled it as “the cruise from hell,”will still be remembered with fondness along with other trips/vacations we lucky enough to share with Tim and Rosemary

Dear Rose and Hayter Family.
We were so sad to learn of Tim`s passing. He has had a long journey. All my Fraser brothers who grew up with Timmie and remained long standing friends would often say he addressed his issues in an admirable ,stoic and in various humourous ways. There are many fond memories of Tim so he will always be remembered through the shared stories of the Hayter and Fraser boys while growing up and later in their adult lives .

I was very saddened to hear about Tim’s passing. I was fortunate to work with Tim for many years at Holyrood. He was a highly trustworthy and effective supervisor. One of the very best. He kept his crew safe and happy, he got the work done always to a high standard, and his good nature and positive spirit made him an absolute pleasure to work with through every challenge that arose. Tim was a lifelong friend, having met in elementary school in Rocklin. He was my best man at our wedding and we remained close friends over the years. Although we didn't always stay in close contact, whenever one of us would make a phonecall or we'd meet up again, it was as if we hadn't missed a beat. He was like another brother.
He always had a joke or some anctic he'd pull to keep everyone laughing and in good cheer. His laid back, devil may care attitude often covered up the generous and caring person he was. He would always be one of the first to step in and lend a hand, support or advice whenever anyone needed it. There was never a question as to how much he valued family and friends.
Rest in Peace now my friend. There are so many of us who will miss your friendship, humour and kindness.

Dear Rosemary I was so sad to hear of Tim’s passing. We had some great times together curling and hanging out at the club afterwards. I met Tim Hayter about 12 years ago when he arrived at the Holyrood TGS as Site Superintendent for B&W. My first impression was that he had a certain calm about him but that he was extremely capable and we were in good hands. I was proven right over the next several years in that he supervised hundreds of people and maintained our boilers to the highest degree. He was a man of integrity, honour and truly one of the best leaders that I have ever worked with in my career. Tim had the respect of his workers – in spades! They clearly wanted to be led by him and they worked very hard every day to please him.
Tim had a presence about him that I will miss very much – he was a mentor to me. I appreciate, so much, all that he did for me.
A great man gone too soon – Godspeed my Friend.

The loss of Timmy will be felt by many but my deepest condolences to Rosemary and the Hayter families. During my childhood the Christmas season always started with a tree decorating party at Timmy and Rosemary's cabin and summer started with Timmy's birthday party at the cottage. I remember how much fun I had when he took us tubing on the boat and we would get dumped off. He was one of the most generous people I ever knew and always had a tool to loan when I was doing house repairs. I'll miss his gentle presence and smile.
