So sorry to hear . I remember Jimmy as a school bus driver at EPRH. Most recently at the villa, He was always in great cheer and ready for a game of crib. A master of the game. Our condolences to the family.

I remember visiting my Great-Uncle Jimmie from my early childhood and then on visits home as an adult. I always enjoyed our conversations in the kitchen of his house in Plymouth. He was very kind. Some years ago, after explaining how fascinated I had been as a child with a yellow geometric puzzle there that I would always struggle to solve, to my surprise, he gave it to me. It is a treasured memento and a lovely reminder of our visits.

My Uncle Jimmy was a quiet, kind, and thoughtful man who lived a good life. He always greeted me with a smile and a hug every time I visited. Through our conversations, I felt he was genuinely interested in what was going on in my life. Even as a kid he would include me in the conversations around the kitchen. I have fond memories of skidoo rides, eating beans and carrots from the garden playing on the school bus.
Jimmy was a close to his family and it was obvious he loved his brothers and sisters and all the kids who spent time at ‘Grammie Munroe’s’. Graduation pictures of his nieces and nephews were proudly displayed in the living room.
My most recent memory is when I visited him at Valley View Village, and he was so sharp talking about his beloved Blue Jays and current events of the day. He teared up when talking about all the residential school children who were found in unmarked graves. Jimmy was sensitive and caring and lived his life caring about others.

To: Jim’s family and relatives,
Jim was a wonderful person. He knew everyone at the former EPRH school and community. I think he knew every student by name. He was always so kind to the entire staff and willing to help us all, as necessary. His caring for students while bussing them back and forth to school each day and his help at the bus garage each day was noticed, applauded and appreciated.
Jim lived a good life and will be remembered as a kind and helpful person.
Prayers and Peace to you all.
- Robert Ferguson, Antigonish
