MacIntosh families, sorry we couldn’t be with you all to say goodbye to Dan. We cherish all the great memories we have of him and your mother. They were like second parents, neighbour’s, and good friends to us all in one. We had many good laughs and stories around the campfire and many great visits. Worked for Dan at V8 motors in the early 70’s. He was a super guy, always willing to teach the trade and share his keen sense of humour when doing so. He was certainly well respected by fellow staff and clients alike. When you deserved a kick in the backside Dan could provide it but would then give you one of his “smokes” and that was the end of the issue. Sincere condolences to all the family.

Q: What will you never forget about Daniel?
A: I met Dan via my dear friend Brian.
He always impressed me with his welcome, his humor, his love of Alice and his boys. He was a hard worker and generous and rightfully proud of a very fine family.
I used to enjoy visiting him and Alice when I was home from university and seminary, they were always part of my regular round of visits after I moved out of province.

Although we knew your Dad's passing was imminent, it's hard to accept the inevitable when our loved ones leave this world. Judy and I always enjoyed meeting your Mom and Dad whether it be here at the grocery store or at cadet camp in Greenwood. While Dan carried on after Alice's passing, things just wouldn't have been the same when the love of his life left this world. Now they can rest in peace together.

It was my privilege to come and care for your father in the last days of his earthly life. What I wasn't entirely prepared for was seeing him completely surrender his dignity to me while entrusting me to preserve it. It will forever be the greatest honour of my life. He was much more to me than my father-in-law, he was my dad (because he told me so!) and I was thrilled to be his sweetie. You have changed me forever and I will always love you, Papa.
