Obituary of Melvyn Wayne MacKenzie

Pictou Landing/Middle Sackville- It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Melvyn(Mel)Wayne MacKenzie, 81 of Pictou Landing formerly of Middle Sackville.
Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late Charles and Jean (MacInnis) MacKenzie.
Mel was a contract hauler for Esso Home Comfort in Halifax for many years. He enjoyed many years at their
summer cottage in Pictou Landing before building their permanent home there. Mel also enjoyed his daily trips to Tim Hortons to meet his buddies.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years the former Marion (Sutherland), sister Lynn Buck, New Glasgow; brother Bryan (Carol) MacKenzie, MacLellan’s Brook; sister-in-law Sandy Maguire, Trenton; brother-in-law Dale Buck, Churchville also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Richard MacKenzie and sister-in-law Helen MacKenzie, Connecticut; sister Jeanette and brother-in-law Tommy Hansford, Sunny Brae; brother-in-law Ken Maguire, Trenton.
Special thanks to neighbors Marilyn and Jim Cameron, paramedics, doctors and nurses.
Cremation has taken place and by request of the deceased there will be no visitation or funeral service.
