Obituary of Lorraine MacLean

MacLean, Shirley “Lorraine,” New Glasgow formerly of Pictou passed away March 2, 2023 at her home.
Born in Pictou she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Peggy (Langille)Griffin.
Lorraine was a resident of New Glasgow for many years having previously resided in Pictou. She was a former employee of MT&T where she worked for many years from where she retired. She loved to dance and travel and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in New Glasgow. In 2018, she was New Glasgow volunteer of the year, having been involved in many community events including the New Glasgow Music Festival, Canadian Cancer Society, Shepherd’s Lunch Room, Meals on Wheels, New Glasgow 55 Club, taught lessons with the Pictou County Ukulele Group and Line Dancing, involved in many bowling tournaments, church suppers, choirs and volunteered with Alcoholics Anonymous.
She is survived by a step-daughter Faye Dreyer, Oshawa; step-son Harold Oran MacLean, Toronto; and Families, close friend for many years Karleen MacLaren, New Glasgow.
She was predeceased by her husband Oran MacLean and a step-son Robert Edward Langille.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will take place from 10am until the time of the memorial service at 11am Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Andrew MacDonald presiding. A reception will follow. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in the Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow.
