Obituary of Ann Shirley Manning

Ann Shirley Manning (Higham) of Stellarton passed away peacefully on March 14th ,2023 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit ,New Glasgow . Born in Sydney Mines on March 27th ,1942 she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret (Fraser) Higham. Ann graduated from the Nova Scotia Teacher College which led to her career in teaching for 30 years in Stellarton ,N.S. Ann was passionate about teaching and giving everyone an equal opportunity to learn . Ann’s love of her children and involvement with her kid’s activities was only matched by the love of her grandchildren . Later in life Ann found the love of her life Max and they shared many laughs and special moments together. Her fondest memories were travelling with friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved reading, puzzles and puzzle books. Survived by a daughter Karen Manning ,son Dan Manning (Ann Manning),grandchildren Dale ,Sean and Maria, great grandson Jaxon. Ann was predeceased by her parents Hugh and Margaret Higham, brother Hugh Higham , son Rob Manning ,partner Max Cullen . Special thanks to the team at Palliative Care ,Dr Jeans ,an extra thank you to Dr. Farrell. We send a special thank you to Mable Sutherland ,Debbie Tobacco ,Angela MacIntosh and Darren Martin for all of your help and all of the laughs along the way. Family flowers only,donations in memory of Ann may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care or to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 P.M. on March 16th in the H.C.MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel ,Stellarton
