Alice Kathleen (Stewart) Magee, 95, originally from Sutherland's River passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023 at Ivey's Terrace Nursing Home in Trenton. Alice was born on June 18, 1927 in Blue Mountain, NS and was a daughter of the late John and Christine Stewart of Blue Mountain and later Plymouth, NS. Alice received her teaching degree from the Normal College in Truro and taught in many places, including Hornepayne Ontario, Hopewell, Blue Mountain, Garden of Eden and Pine Tree, NS. If she was not sitting at her sewing machine, Mom could be found outside, enjoying her garden or making home made root beer for her friends and family. Mom is survived by her children; Valda (Allan) Jackson, Churchville; Vernon (Sharon) Magee, Penticton BC; and Nauldine (Robert) Martell, Lake Frederick, VA; her sister Diane Wright, Riverton and a brother Morten Stewart, Canning. Mom will be missed by her grandchildren Allison (James O'Farrell) Jackson, Moncton NB; Christopher Jackson, Churchville; Dustin (Megan) Magee, Penticton BC; Natalie Martell, Brooklyn, NY; André Martell Centreville, VA; and her grand-dog, Jake. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Logan Magee, Gillian and William, as well as many nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her husband Vernon Magee; brothers Raymond and Murray Stewart and sister Georgina Cameron. The family would like to thank the staff at Ivey's Terrace Nursing Home for the care Mom received during the past year. Funeral arrangements are under the care of H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. At the request of the deceased no service will take place. A family burial will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice. angusfuneralhomes.com
