Obituary of Cecil Ernest Hattie

Cecil Ernest Hattie, age 91 of Bridgewater, formerly of Glenelg passed away January 30, 2023 at the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in Antigonish he was a son of the late Ernest and Jean (Fisher) Hattie.
Cecil was a longtime resident of Glenelg. He was an active member of the Glenelg Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and the treasurer for many years. He was a member of Jewel Lodge IOOF Antigonish. Cecil had worked for the Department of Highways for 39 years from where he retired.
He is survived by his children Archie (Lorraine), Corinne Bayliff (Mike), Sheila Hattie Butler (Ken) and Pam MacLeod (Mark); 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie; siblings Clayton, Stanley, Ella, Mable and Ethel.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 4, 2023 in Glenelg Presbyterian Church with Rev. Derek Elsworth officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Aspen. A reception will follow in the church hall.
Donations in memory of Cecil may be made to Glenelg Presbyterian Church or the Evergreen Cemetery, Aspen.
Dad was a wonderful husband and father. He will be greatly missed.
