So sorry to hear of Mary Ellen's passing. She was a wonderful colleague who taught me so much about Mi'kmaq culture. She had a great sense of humour and created a place where children were accepted. A leader, a mentor, an educator, an artist, a truly good person. Many memories of her make me smile. To her large family, I send my condolences. She will be remembered.

I had the pleasure of working along side Mary Ellen at FH MacDonald! Her sense of humour, her quiet manner and her willingness to approach any task with the students was appreciated by all who came in contact with her. We had several meals together at my home and shared much laughter during our time together.
She was a special lady !

I am so sorry to learn of Mary Ellen's passing. I have many happy memories of us working together at Frank H MacDonald School. Mary Ellen was such a wonderful lady, excellent with children, a terrific co-worker and an extraordinary mother. She had a great sense of humour and I enjoyed working with her so much. My respect for her is immense. Deepest condolences to all her family members.

Q: What will you never forget about Mary?
A: Mary Ellen taught me how to bead a choker and a bracelet in grade 5 at Frank H. Her patience and kindness is remembered fondly.
