Q: How did you meet John?

I just learned today of John's passing. I am so sorry. He was a brilliant man, devoted teacher and great colleague. I had the enormous pleasure of working with and working for John in the same subject area.I learned so much from him. His professionalism, integrity, and student centeredness set a high standard for us to follow.In my career there have been several people who really made an impact on me. John was one of those helped me.
I have thought about him often, especially when I knew he was not well. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. He was a very special person who touched so many in this area. I know how proud he was of all of you and what you meant to him. I know Noreen and him are smiling down on us.

To the Roy family, Our sincere condolences on the passing of John. It has been decades since we have seen him, after getting to know him when Sam stayed with Peg and Weldon when he moved from his Lunenburg home early in his RBCRoyal Bank career in the 1960’s. Back then he was always a joy to speak to and all the Roy family treated him like he was part of the entire family. He was a fine person in all regards. Rest In Peace John

Family Members,
I was so saddened to learn of Mr. Roy's passing. I first met Mr. Roy at NSCC where he was my English teacher. He was not only an excellent teacher, but very kind, helpful person. When I used to see him at the grocery store he always had time for a chat. I certainly will remember him and miss running in to him. My sincere condolences to you all.
