KELLOCK, Robert “Ross” MacKenzie: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father and Papa on December 15, 2021 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital at the age of 93. He was born on January 19, 1928 and was the son of the late Earle and Margaret (MacKenzie) Kellock. Dad was first and foremost a family man, married for 55 years to the love of his life the late Angelita Kellock (Pettipas) who we lost in 2005. Dad was an avid gardener all of his life and maintained large gardens all over his property on Bridge Avenue in Stellarton. We were fortunate to have him teach us these skills and be of some (we thought!!) assistance to him in his later years. Dad worked at many jobs over the years including Shaw Resources and Michelin Tire where he retired in 1991 after 20 years; but his job with CN and his work around the trains and roundhouse was something that he loved and talked about most of his life. Dad was very well respected, admired and loved by his neighbors, friends and all that he met during his daily walks around town. Dad is survived by his children Brian (Nicole), Tom (Cheryl), Terry (Bernadette), Kathy (Bobby Brooks), Marilyn (Lou Smith), Larry (Jayne), Jane (Tom van Oirschot), Mark and Alice (Kevin English); daughter-in-law Mary, sister-in-law Heather, 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers Herdman, Gordon and Sandy (Dianne) and his sisters Viola Ross, Lois Gillis, and Marlene Taylor. Besides his parents, Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Angelita, their sons Eric as well as Paul and Peter (in infancy), and granddaughter Elysha. He was also predeceased by brothers Norval, Earle, Roy, Irving, and Scott as well as his sisters Erma, Ione, Peggy, Jean and Maxine. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at the VON for their care, support and encouragement shown over the past few months. We would also like to thank Dr Anne Kwasnik and the wonderful nursing staff in the Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care of Dad and our family over the past 10 days. PLEASE NOTE: Due to NEW COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS as of DECEMBER 17, 2021, THERE IS NO PUBLIC VISITATION ALLOWED ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 17, 2021. FAMILY ONLY. A Mass of Christian Burial for invited family will be held 11am Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father Peter MacDonald presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, masks, double vaccination and social distancing are required. Family flowers only, donations can be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Society or a charity of your choice.
