Obituary of Alice Margaret MacIntosh

Please share a memory of Alice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our precious Alice Margaret (Fitt) MacIntosh left us on December 2, 2021, to Waltz with the Angels, 6 days short of her 81st birthday. If Mom knew you, she loved you and this was especially true of Dan, her devoted husband of 62 years, and her five beloved sons Dan (Roberta McIntee) Ottawa, Dave (Tracy Grant) Stellarton, Ed (Debbie) Waterloo, Rick (Heather) Lower Sackville and Brian (Cathie) Stellarton; siblings Theresa (Buddy Murray), Winnie (Baker Dykens), Sally (Art Brennan), Patrick (Noreen), Rita, Joan (Percy Pellerine), Cathy (Allison Ross), Art (Joanne), sister-in-law Leona, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Through her many years working with the public at the Norfolk Hotel, where she met Dan who was working at Vee Eight Motors right across the street; at the Heather Motel; and at the Aberdeen Hospital, Alice got to know just about everyone in Pictou County and never left home without running into someone she knew and catching up with them. Mom and Dad spent their summers at Harbour Lights Campground where she collected beach glass and many life long friends. Born in Stellarton on December 8, 1940, Alice was the daughter of the late Edward ("Ned") and Sarah (Sadie) (Hurley) Fitt. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her parents-in-law Finlay and Sarah (Mitchell) MacIntosh; brothers John, in infancy; Edward ("Neddie"); and granddaughter Caitlyn. So many have helped us through this difficult time and we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to Noreen Fitt for her loving care of Mom and the family; the VON; the doctors and nurses on the 1st and 4th floors Aberdeen Hospital, and all those who brought food, cards, and sent messages of support. Family will receive friends at H.C.MacQuarrie Funeral Home 18 Acadia Ave . Stellarton 2-4 and 7-9 Monday Dec 6th. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Church, Westville with Father Peter MacDonald officiating on Tuesday at 2 P.M .Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery Family flowers only. In lieu of donations, please perform an act of kindness, call an old friend, or hug a loved one. Masks are required and proof of double vaccination is mandatory for both visitation and funeral service. The funeral may be viewed on facebook page Stella Maris -Holy Name Church
