I was very saddened to hear of Alice's passing. To all of her family, you have my deepest sympathy. I got to know Alice when I worked at the Aberdeen Hospital. Never was there such a woman. A petite giant of a woman and an absolute legend. A woman who was my second mother the moment I met her son; a woman who was a staunch defender of her children and all those she loved; a woman who was generous in heart and soul as is evidenced in her obituary: In all things she always wished for us all just to be nice to each other. For as long as we live, she shall never die because there are too many memories that changed us all significantly. And so proud is her namesake to be named after Nana! I shall never forget our special talks, her timely and perfect advice, her selfless spirit, her scotch cookies and her strawberry pie and jam! I will love you forever, Alice.

My sincerest condolences to my friend, Dan, Roberta, and to all of your mom's family and friends.... your Mom was one of the very first people to welcome us to Nova Scotia when we made the trek home so many years ago... My own Mom, she's been gone now four years already, and Dad just two years on Monday past, they spoke so very warmly of your Mom, she was always the kindest and sweetest person to us all and she truly made us feel at home while we all waited for the house on Cambridge Avenue to be ready. It seems like so long ago, but feels like yesterday. May we all remember your Mom in that way... much like my own Mom, she kindly touched every soul she met, leaving a smile on our hearts.
