I met George many years ago, when he joined Trinitarians. Always gracious, courteous, interested in others, he was a true gentleman. He loved to sing, and to be part of a very busy choir organization. I will remember George always with great fondness, and gratitude for having had the privelege ofdirecting and teaching him in the bass section of Trinitarians. Sing on, George. Your voice will bring love and joy, no matter where it is heard. My sincere condolences to George's family. You will miss him, yet have wonderful memories to heal and gladden your hearts. My father Norman Brown hired George to work with him and Lawson at Miller’s years ago. As a young boy I always remember George as a friendly happy man, outgoing, similar to my father. He helped make this store a success which gave our family great comfort. Glad to see he lived a full, long, happy life. Norman Richard Brown (third son) Halifax

I remember George well as such a gentle kind person. His wife Janie was the daughter of my grandmother Violet Pearson's sister Lou MacQuarrie, Hopewell and I remember visiting Janie and George in Stellarton(?) but not the date, maybe late 70's or early 80's.
My deepest condolences to his family. Jayn Pearson (Truro)

I have very fond memories of George Ray at West Pictou High. I was probably the worst french student he had to struggle with thru the years. I tried very hard to make the words sound correct but the smile on his face showed he respected the effort but knew it was a dismal result. His kind nature and gentle ways will always be remembered fondly.
Georges family and friends know they were lucky to share time with him.

My friend, Hannah, & I were recently reminiscing about our school days at Bible Hill Central School & were thinking of all our teachers. Mr. Rae was both my Grade IV teacher & also our Junior High Math teacher. He was such a gentleman & I can remember admiring his "always matched" ties & socks! When I read his obituary, it did not surprise me to learn that Mr. Rae eventually worked in a Men's Shop! As with your parents, Mason, he was musically gifted & had a well-lived life.
