So sorry to learn of Marguerite's passing. Although a long time Willow Avenue neighbour, I really got to know her well in the years she worked with us at Proudfoots. Marguerite always had good words and a positive approach for all people and situations, and added so much to our office personality. Always precisely capable with every responsibility she took on, we simply knew that work done by Marguerite (and under her guidance) was organized,complete and correct. Her many years as Paymaster (with tax and deduction tables and manual cheques..... long before computer pay programs) bore testament to her steady work ethic and standards, on payday, every two weeks. Never an error.
Marguerite was a wonderful person to work with and spend time with every day. Always a very interesting conversationalist, she had a great knowledge of the everyday world and good common sense opinions on almost any subject.... firm opinions, gently put forward... and always with a clever sense of humour.
Thinking about Marguerite brings back very good memories.
