September 15, 2021. Clarke, Owen Linwood, 78 of Trenton passed away peacefully Wednesday September 15, 2021. Born in Halifax on January 3, 1943, he was a son of the late John Edmund and Georgia Willa(Clark)Clarke. Owen was employed by the Nova Scotia Provincial Government in the Finance Department with Amusement Regulations, later retiring from the Gaming Authority. Following a few years of retirement, he decided to join the Corps of Commissionaires, working for 15 years with security at Northern Pulp. He was elected to town council in Trenton for 2 terms, as well as serving on the board at the Glen Haven Manor as well as the Riverview Residential Corp. He later joined the board at the 144 Construction Engineering Flight in Pictou. He very much enjoyed his activities with the Lions club in Stellarton. He also was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 and the Bombers Club. Owen enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and attended many Nascar races. Music was a very big part of his life, enjoyed at many family functions. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Claudia(DeYoung, Fraser), son Jeffery(Janis), step-daughter Rhonda(Mark Sinclair), brothers; Elroy(Connie), Glen(Jacquline), Douglas(Shirley), sisters; Gladys Daley, Margaret Publicover, Beverly(Donald)Fletcher, sisters-in law; Sunnie Clarke, Anderine Megeney, several nieces and nephews. Owen was predeceased by brothers Reg and wife Joyce, Gordon and wife Marion, George and his nephew Peter. The family would like to thank the Glen Haven Manor and staff for the excellent care Owen received while in the care of Serenity Springs and Ocean drive. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, funeral services for Owen will be held for family and invited friends on Saturday September 18, 2021 at 2pm at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Andrew MacDonald presiding. Burial will take place in the Abercrombie Cemetery. The service will be live streamed via the H.W. Angus Funeral Home facebook page at 2pm.
