Our family's thoughts and prayers are with your family at this very difficult time. We all have fond memories of Peter, from school band to Cutco and stories of his passion for aviation. (My father, also named Peter, was a pilot as well and took me up with him many times.)
Peter contributed so much to so many people and organizations. I hope many people will read "High Flight", quoted by John Wojcik in his condolence message. It is a most appropriate poem offered at this sad time to help comfort family and friends.

My sincere condolences to Peter’s family and close friends. I worked closely with Peter in his years with the regional cadet gliding school. He was a pleasure to have on the airfield with the right mix of work ethic and fun.
My fondest memory of him was a summer he was a staff cadet in my flight. He was making gaterade for the cadets and decided it was a great idea to stir the mixture with our gaff stick. This is a wooden stick with a metal hook that we use to pull and guide the tow rope to the front of the glider. We usually throw it in the dirt on the side of the runway between launches so naturally it was the ideal implement to stir the gaterade we all drink ;)

I was so very saddened to hear this awful news. Peter was wonderful young man. I remember him at the church, singing in the choir with Marcus... and selling Cutco- I believehe was raising money for his schooling to obtain his pilots license. I purchased a paring knife from him, and like Peter advised, it's still sharp years later.
I know he will be deeply missed by many. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to you all.

Deepest condolences to all of Peters family and friends. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I am Cory's mother, Marsha. Peter came to my house all the time as a child, and Cory went over there many times as well. Cory and I spoke lovingly of Peter yesterday, remembering old times... getting the eggs every morning, Peter singing to us in Latvian while we drove in the car, and his laugh, he was really one of a kind. His adventurous spirit could be seen even as a youngster. I remember meeting up with his Dad one time for parent visitation..... we spoke of our boys, and how they got along, and he told me, ever since Peter was born.. his little feet never stopped moving. I still remember that, after all these years. God Bless you all, and know his memory will live on with us... in stories we tell and retell. He was special and unique, and we loved him.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Peter's loss. A young and talented young man taken from us much too soon. I knew Peter as a cadet when I worked as an officer at 374. Always outgoing, bright and friendly. He will be missed.

To Pete’s family and friends,
I didn’t get to know Peter for very long but from the time I did get to know him I’ll always remember his big laugh and smile. He was a very happy guy and always got along well with our group. He was fitting in very well with our team and had a very bright future ahead of him. I feel a big loss here in the Birddog program at MAG Aerospace. I want to express my deepest sympathies and condolences to Pete’s family. He will always be in my thoughts.
