Heather was a loyal daughter and sister. She was a loving mother and grandmother. And she was a devoted wife, missing Don every single day after his death in May of 2018. Heather was a also a true friend. Don and my father, Stan Porter, were first cousins, but I considered Heather my own, dear Aunt. I loved my visits to New Glasgow—to grave yards, Green Hill Park, Masstown Market and Swiss Chalet She was so smart and well-informed and we always stayed up too late talking about family and current events, both local as well as further afield. Heather loved the Toronto Raptors and every curling game broadcast. She was team Gushue. But more than anything she loved her family. Heather was happiest when she talked about Don, their sons, Kevin and Jason as well as their beautiful grandchildren, Ethan and Ivy. She loved them the best and the most. I will miss her.
Heartfelt sympathy to Kevin, Jason, Ethan and Ivy from Chris Burton and all of the Porter family.

Linda, Jason, Kevin and families - Our deepest sympathies to all of you at this time. I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with Heather a couple of years ago for the first time in years. We had some good laughs over family "events", talking about her sons and grandchildren and generally catching up as family. She was very upbeat and cheerful determined to handle everything life had to throw at her. She was a fighter and will be missed.
Sincerely Marg and Steven Mackay

Kevin, Jason and families, I'm saddened to hear of Heather's passing. She was certainly my cousin "in the know"of family related history. She and I shared some recent conversations and she in her ever optimistic fashion would be happy and upbeat despite her physical illness. She always spoke fondly of her family and loved seeing her grandchildren.
We send sincere condolences to all of you.

Kevin, Jason and families,
So sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. She was a very strong and lovely person. She was always the go to person for any type of family history and seemed to remember everyone's birthday. My Mom was always amazed with that and how much she knew and remembered about all things family related. Sending hugs and thinking about you.

Your mum was a very good friend of my mum just two doors up. She enjoyed Heathers regular visits and loved doing the crossword puzzles with her and Mildred (Whidden).
Praying that you all will find comfort in each other at this time of loss.
With deepest sympathy,
Jeanie (MacDonald) Fievet
