MacGillivray, John D.- The family of the late John D. MacGillivray(May 24, 1942) of New Glasgow wishes to announce his passing on December 20, 2020.
Born in New Glasgow he was a son of the late John and Mary(MacLellan)MacGillivray.
Prior to retirement, John was a highly respected Pharmaceutical Representative, spanning a fourty year career, travelling Atlantic Canada.
John was an avid sports fan, his unlimited knowledge and passion for sports(especially the Boston Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots)was shared and respected by all who knew him. “Go Sox Go”
He is survived by sisters; Marie(Roger)Sharpe, Massachusetts; Ann Louise(Stan)Lukye, Edmonton; Judy(Jimmy)Allard, Edmonton; Rose MacGillivray, New Glasgow; brothers; Henry, New Glasgow; Joe(Eileen), Stellarton; Frank(Andrea), Stellarton; Rollie(Barbara), Truro; many nieces, nephews and friends for devoted friendship.
He was predeceased a sister Cissie Van Larken and a brother Angus.
By request of the deceased, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral services. Burial of ashes will take place at the Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow in the family plot at a later date.
Donations in memory of John may be made to Big brothers/Big Sisters, the Nova Scotia SPCA or to a charity of one’s choice.
