Obituary of Nicholas Todd St. Louis
Please share a memory of Nicholas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our son Nick, was the kindest, most artistic, quick witted, genuine, person you could ever imagine.
Nicholas Todd St. Louis of Halifax, NS, took his own life on December 17, 2020 at the age of 21.
Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of Todd and Annette (Fraser) St. Louis of Durham, N.S.
Nick started school in Sherbrooke, N.S. where he remained until grade 5, then he and his family moved to Goose Bay, Labrador where he made lifelong friends that he graduated high school with.
In October of 2019, Nick attended Eastern College to pursue his passion for barbering.
He had a natural talent for the fine art of barbering and you could see the sparkle in his eyes whenever he spoke about it and enjoyed boosting the confidence of people, particularly youth, by leaving them with an inspiring new style. As mentioned by his instructor, Clarence, whom Nick considered a good friend, Nicks skills as a new barber matched those well beyond his years.
Nick touched people with his kindness and giving nature and left his mark on everyone he met; even if only for a short time.
“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever”.
He had a special bond with his nephew Kai who idolized his “uncle Nick” and whenever the two were together you could not pry them apart and You could see the sheer pride in Kai’s eyes and the pure Joy in Nick when they hung out.
Nick will be deeply missed and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loving parents Todd & Annette St. Louis, Durham; his sister Brittany (Wagner) Macedo, Halifax; nephews Kai, most recently Miles and niece Isla; maternal grandparents Sylvia & Doug Hayward, Lyons Brook.
He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and his special friend Arielle.
Nick was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Judy and Murray D'Ambrose and maternal grandfather Joe Linthorne.
We are shouting out our pride to drown out the idea that mental illness is something to be ashamed of. Please hug your loved ones, hug your children, hug your friends, and tell them you love them and that you are there for them.
Heartfelt thanks to Glenn Fraser and Staff at H.W. Angus funeral home for their compassion during our most difficult time.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation or service by request.
