Pls accept my heart felt condolences over the demise of my teacher at Teachers College Bama, Nigeria from 1980 to 1982. Jerry taught us English and Edith taught us Maths in preparation for TC II Exams. The set performed wonderfully in the exams. Sir Jerry was so friendly to the staff and the students. He couched the school hockey team and won trophies. Sir Jerry was a friend, a teacher, a father and anything you can think of to me. We missed you sir. Aliyu S. Fada.

My condolences to the family.
I met Jay at Acadia University in 1977. He was my mentor and friend. I served under him for two years as a Residence Assistant from 1978 until we both graduated in 1980. Jay was the Residence Don (head) of Willett House. Jay had lots of energy, enthusiasm, compassion and spirit. He approached every task with dedication and drive!

Our sympathies to the family. We met Jay at Acadia University in the late 70’s. He was the dean of Willet House. A great friend ! I will never forget one of his favourite sayings at that time. “All right, all right let’s get it on”

So sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. Haven’t seen Jerry in years, but have some fond memories when we played Jr hockey in Windsor. Richard also played on the team. Then a few years later when I was the recreation director in Kentville, Jerry taught dance lessons for one of my programs. Also found Jerry to be an interesting individual. Condolences to the family and may he RIP. Bill Boyd

Our deepest condolences on Jerry’s passing. Our times going to dance class in Antigonish with our dance group were very special. Jerry was so much fun, patient and skilled, he was amazing. Watching him and trying to emulate his moves on the dance floor was impossible. We will always remember those happy times. To his family, please be glad that Jerry left such a memorable mark and know his spirit continues. Rod & JoAnn Hadley, Antigonish.

Sending my love to all of you. My favourite memories with Jerry would have to be the trips to PEI that you allowed me to tag along on and the endless hours of croquet in Nan’s lawn. Xoxo Karen
