Barbara, Jack, Jim, Brenda and. Families
I grew up next door to you all, and those days were very special to our family. You were our neighbours but more than that, you were our friends. I remember snapping yellow beans in Barbara's kitchen and our summer drive to the Fish Hatchery which John took all in stride. He was a great guy and will be missed by his family and many friends. Rest in Peace John

As I have aged I have recognized the impact that my community has had on my development and the importance of role models for good citizenship. John and Barbara have both been steadfast pillars within our community, in times of good and also to shoulder the burden of the harder times. He was a truly wonderful person, and I am so grateful for the impact that he has made on us all.
Deepest Sympathies,
Amanda MacDonald Green & Family

Barbara and family,
We are so sorry to hear of John's passing. Our deepest condolence to you all.
John was a great man who was always kind.
My memory goes back to 1965 when the road was being paved from Blue Mountain to Aspen and I was a young trucker on that job. John and Barbara let me put up a tent by the lake and they even fed me at their house everyday (such wonderful people). I will never forget the kindness they showed me and the fabulous food they fed me. Some years after that John was a surveyor on some highway jobs that we done. Again he was a great Man and always had a kind word.
I will never forget him.
Albert and Florence Marshall

Uncle John loved life; you could tell when you visited him, it was that smile. He was proud of his family, his home, his wild blueberries and beautiful Christmas trees. I loved our visits as children, and especially have appreciated our visits in recent years. During one visit, he took us to the "historical area" ... yes, down the stairs to the basement, we went! Uncle John had an amazing area of history that he had lovingly collected over the years in many binders; obituaries were printed and saved for years and years! We saw family pictures on one wall. We saw history that day. His love of family was evident in all ways. Love, hugs and sympathy to Aunt Barbara and all the family.

My heart goes out to John's kin and friends. Especially dear Barbara. When I was a young girl, I got a ride in the mail car and dropped off at their house. We were allowed to do that back then. I arrived in the morning so Barbara could give me a perm. It was a whole day with them and I caught the mail drive back to East River St Mary's again. They were the dearest folks. John always welcomed me with that broad, impish smile. He teased and made me feel at home. We three had lunch together and John took me across the road to the lake to watch the float plane land. Both of them are part of memories of growing up. Always the dearest and happiest couple. A marriage to aspire to with love and teasing and laughs and tears. Bob met him over the years and remembers him as a 'good man'. Well said. Sending love and hugs across the mountains.

Sending our deepest sympathies to Barbara, Darryl and John's Family on the passing of John. John and I worked together in late 1960's at DOH, being just out of college, John had a lot of teaching for me which I greatly appreciated. He was good with the cards at lunch hour. He made work fun! I use to visit Aunt Barb and Uncle John many years ago when I was younger. They were the sweetest couple I had ever met. They always wanted me to call them Barb and John but I was brought up to respect my elders so they were always Aunt Barb and Uncle John. Jackie, Jimmy, Brenda and Aunt Barb, my deepest sympathy to all of you. I know Uncle John will be missed by all who knew him. You all now have an angel in heaven watching over you. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Rhonda (Mills) Smith

Love and hugs to my sweet Aunt Barbara and my cousins Brenda,Jimmie and Jackie and their families.Uncle John was one of a kind: hard worker, kind, good sense of humour, loved his wife of 73 years marriage dearly and was very well liked by everyone who knew him. You will be greatly missed by all your friends and family on earth but will be greeted with open arms by a lot of souls in heaven who also love you.
