Hello everyone and please let me send along my sincere condolences for your loss.I met, Mrs. Esling when I was a young child in elementary school. She was the playground supervisor at Dr. W.A MacLeod when I attended. I have always been the child/ adolescent who made faster connections with other children then I did adults. I'm not exactly sure what it was about Mrs. Esling, whether it be her kindness, her nurturing nature, or her genuine likeability, but she became one of my first adult "friends" that I very much looked forward to seeing each day. We quickly grew a connection and I would bring her my mother's homemade egg rolls for her to try, which she would be overjoyed to receive, she would tell me stories, and she became someone I could trust and count on. For my birthday one year she gave me a gift. It was a small, porcelain girl, about the size of my hand back then, and it said Little Miss June on her sash. I couldn't believe that an adult, that wasn't a family member or close friend of the family, actually gave me a gift. I was so touched and honoured. I am now 43 years old and have made several moves in my life, even out of the country, and have become quite the minimalist. One thing that I've always kept with me over all of these years was that precious gift. It meant the world to me then and still does now. She will greatly be missed.
