Pictou Landing First Nation: Jakoby Ryan Augustine passed away suddenly at the tender age of 24. Jakoby was brought into this world on Feb. 7, 1995 by his mom Melanie Thomas (Pictou Landing First Nation) and his dad Joel Augustine (Elsipogtog First Nation, NB). Jakoby was an amazing person. He was always so independent, and if he needed help he’d be shy to ask. His heart was always in the right place, he had a passion for his guitar, poetry and was artistic.
Surviving besides his parents are his brother Nathan Thomas, Charlottetown, PEI; sister Ocean Augustine, Elsipogtog First Nation, NB; his grandmother Francis Augustine, Elsipogtog First Nation, NB; his godparents Garnet Augustine and Cara Simon both of Elsipogtog First Nation, NB a niece Dimitria Dedam, Elsipogtog First Nation, NB and a nephew Chayton Thomas, Charlottetown, PEI; also a number of cousins.
His remains will rest in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Pictou Landing First Nation for visitation after 3 P.M. on Monday, Feb 3rd. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 5th at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with Father Tom MacNeil presiding. Burial will be at a later date.
No flowers by request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Salite and dinner to follow the mass in Pictou Landing First Nation gymnasium.
