I worked with Scotty in Halifax at the Convention Centre for ten years... I left Halifax and drove to Vancouver ten years ago.
. Every Tine I visited Halifax After that I would always run into Scotty, whether it was Sobeys at 10pm or Scotia Square mid afternoon it was unexpected. I knew we had to stay in touch... One time at band camp Scotty and I were chatting ob the phone and I said I was missing brother’s pepperoni so he said he would send me some, 10lbs, I couldn’t believe it, it showed up at my door in Vancouver the next day, I tried to pay him money but he was having none of it... Last time I was back East end of August I tried my darnedest to visit him but he wouldn’t allow it, I know now he wanted me to remember him the way he was when he managed Rumours night club, I never made it to Rumours but I know he did, cheers Scotty!

Dear Doreen, my deepest condolences to you. Although we have not met, Scott shared some of his childhood memories with me including a childhood picture of the two of you. I will always remember him for his love of the movies, the Oscars, and his Halloween costumes. He loved Halloween. I am grateful for having known him. He shared his sadness as he told me about losing friends to AIDS and how it propelled him to activism. I share that sadness of loosing a friend.

It was my privilege to work with Scott on the Nova Scotia Task Force on AIDS during my time as President of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union. Scott made many positive, helpful comments that added greatly to the discussions during a time when people were just becoming aware of AIDS, and often held negative views. Scott’s comments were invariably positive and helped set the tone at many meetings. I had seen him several times at the WTCC over the years and always enjoyed catching up with his news. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your brother, a kind, funny and gentle man.

Condolences to you on the loss of Scott.
On behalf of myself and the entire catering team here at the Convention centre, I want to let you know how much we will miss him.
Although we haven't seen his smiling face here over the last year, we all still talk about him daily and how great a person he was.
He was loved by the staff here and also all the guests he took care of over the past 27 years.

It's been an honour to have known Scott for over 30 years...I always admired his soft and patient way when dealing with a friend or co-worker...He was loyal, full of naive wonder at the world and always genuinely happy to see you.
