I was sorry to read Butch's obituary in the Herald yesterday (June 21). He and I were distant cousins, and I have happy memories of our families visiting over the years in Piedmont and MacLellan's Brook when we were children. I also remember good times at EPRH. He was such a happy guy, and full of fun. Over the years, except for an occasional meeting, we lost touch. Allan and I want to express our sincere sympathy to his family.

I am so sad this morning having just read that my friend Butch has passed away. He was such an important part of my adolescence. I swear he took Heather and I everywhere! I often said that Butch taught me life's survival skills. Most importantly to treat other people well and be to be kind and generous to everyone.
