Maud "Jean" Isenor Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maud “Jean” Isenor, age 94, at Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, Trenton.

Jean was born in Toronto, Ontario, on February 11th, 1930. Jean moved with her parents and sister Mary at the age of three to Stellarton, Nova Scotia, where she spent most of her life.

Jean was known to many as an avid walker, an amazing baker, and a friend to everyone she encountered. She loved to attend dances across the county and made many friends along the way.

Jean was a member of the Anglican Church Women of the Christ Anglican Church for many years. She loved to attend church every Sunday and had a deep faith in God. Jean’s faith was tied to her sense of charity, and she supported numerous organizations throughout her life, including the World Wildlife Fund, UNICEF, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Jean will be remembered for her enormous heart, her gentle manner, and her kindness to all. She was a remarkable grandmother who shared her love of food and philanthropy with her granddaughters, picking blueberries on warm summer days and canvasing for charities on cold winter evenings. She gave to anyone in need, whether they needed a few dollars, a sympathetic ear, or a dance partner.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, William and Martha Ince, and her sister, Mary Ince.

She is survived by her only son, William White (Judy), her three granddaughters, Tammy (David), Bonnie (John), and Terri (Bill), and her four great grandchildren, Jason (Heidi), Blake, Kailyn, and Jack.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ivey’s Terrace for their exceptional care and the compassion they provided to our mother and grandmother for the last number of years.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton.

Donations in Jean’s memory can be made to the Pictou County SPCA.
