Phyllis Fraser Obituary

Fraser, Margaret “Phyllis”, 99 of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Riverbank Street, Stellarton passed away December 20, 2024 in the manor.

Born in Stellarton she was a daughter of the late John and Frances (Clark)Fraser.

Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Stellarton where she was a member of Christ Anglican Church. She was a past employee in the Payroll Department of the Aberdeen Hospital for some 22 years from where she retired. She was also employed at Central Appliances and Jamieson Motors. Phyllis served in the Woman’s Army Corps in Halifax for 3 and a half years where she served as a qualified clerk. She loved animals especially her furbabies, gardening, a great game of cards, feeding the birds, getting her hair done and her weekly shopping.

She is survived by her chosen daughter Phyllis MacDonald, New Glasgow; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and her great- grand niece Emerson, who brought so much joy to Phyllis during her visits.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Chisholm, Marie Rhude Taylor, Jean MacDonald, a brother Vernon and her lifelong partner Bill Jamieson.

The family will receive visitors from 12:30pm until 1:45pm Monday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton from where funeral services will be held at 2pm with Rev. Joanne Neal presiding.

Burial will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.

Donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to the Nova Scotia SPCA or to a charity of one’s choice.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of the Glen Haven Manor for their kind and compassionate care shown to Phyllis during her time in the manor.
