Lloyd Fraser MacLaren Obituary

It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd Fraser MacLaren on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Aberdeen Hospital at the age of 79.

Born September 11, 1945, Lloyd grew up living in Blanchard and Moose River, Pictou County and New Glasgow. He was the only child of the late Margaret Jessie (Fraser) and Robert Edward MacLaren.

Lloyd attended school in Halifax and received his masonry trade in 1969. He worked many years for the Department of Natural Resources and retired caring for Powell’s Point Provincial Park.

An avid car enthusiast, Lloyd was a past member of the Pictou County Antique Car Club. He loved to talk about cars and trucks and could recount the mechanical details of just about any make or model year. His first car was an Austin but his favorite was his 1949 Mercury pickup.

Lloyd is survived by his O’Brien cousins; Donald (Phyllis), Wade (Nancy) his Chisholm cousins Garth (Linda) and Joan (George) McKay; and his Fraser cousins; Gary and Catherine.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 30 at 2:00 pm in the Garden of Eden Cemetery in Moose River with John Reeves officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to the H.W. Angus Funeral Home.
