Obituary of John "Colin" Campbell

John Colin Campbell, 85, of Caribou River passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2024. Colin was born in Barneys River to the late John & Marion Campbell of Frasers Mountain. He was predeceased by his brothers Dan, Simon, Doug and Carol's son Michael McCormick. Colin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Campbell, sons John, Frasers Mountain, Douglas, Glen (Victoria), Ontario and their mother Rosemary Campbell, sister Marg (Jeff) Avent, Ontario, brother Paul, sisters in law, Jean McCara, Linda Sullivan, Elaine Campbell, brother in law, Gary Ross, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. At a young age, Colin moved to Toronto to pursue his career as a mechanic, His ambition and hard work lead to successful businesses as an owner/operator of various service stations as well as a Ryder truck franchise. In 2004, Colin & Carol moved back to Nova Scotia to spend their retirement years by the ocean in Caribou River and enjoyed their winter travels to Florida. Colin had a caring & compassionate personality that was appreciated by his family, neighbours and friends. He loved nothing more than a great conversation and generously shared his knowledge and experience with all. Colin was an avid car enthusiast who loved to spend hours tinkering on old cars and trucks in his shop. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H W Angus Funeral Home. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the ALS Society, the VON or a charity of one's choice.
