So sad to hear of Rick’s passing. We always had the close relationship because we are PEIslanders. We spent many years in Kinsmen together and yes, Rick was treasurer for many projects. We moved to PEI/Alberta 13 years ago. R.I.P. friend

Hi Glenda, Nathan and family
This is Pat and Anita Carty, we are deeply saddened by Rick’s passing. His good nature at all times that we have been in his presence was so amazing.
He gave so much of his time to help many community projects with his expertise in dealing with government funding and other accounting work.
His contribution to the track facility was huge and so appreciated.
We were at Dublin Ireland airport when I read about his passing and both of us were just so much in disbelief.
Sincerely
Pat and Anita

I was saddened when I heard this news last week. I spent many summers on the baseball field being coached and mentored by Rick. His dedication to the baseball program and to the players was remarkable given that he had a young family of his own at the time. From pre teen to young adult, Rick was role model, coach, mentor and friend and we would frequently run into each other and talk about those summer baseball days. Thanks for everything Rick!

He was always available when I needed advice about the business or help solving a problem. Rick has always shown such kindness and generosity to myself, my wife and my son. He will be greatly missed and lessons he taught me will forever be appreciated.

My sincere condolences on the passing of our “Cousin Rick.” He was a brilliant man who was always ready with advise on how us young cousins could flourish financially. Our response was almost always, bring down to our level Rick lol. He wanted the best for us all.
Rick was always considered like a brother to my father and his siblings. He stood beside our family in the hardest of times. His presence, concern and advise will always be remembered.
Covid has kept me from attending his celebration of life but I will remember him from his second home in PEI.

So sorry to hear of Rick's sudden passing. We worked together many years ago, in the New Glasgow Doane Raymond office, and while we did not have a lot of contact after we both left, it was always great to run into him and have a chat in the years after that. He was always glad to see you and catch up, which was just who he was. Genuine, and what you see is what you get.
My sympathies to those left behind. He will be missed.

Rick was a wonderful friend from the first moment we met at his first New Glasgow Kinsmen meeting. Through many experiences and adventures, we always accomplished something that mattered and had some laughs along the way. Rick will be deeply missed by Sarah and Adam who were lucky to have his knowledge and encouragement in their lives.
Rick came to Pictou County following career opportunities...and weren't we lucky.
Remember Rick by offering your skills in the service of others.

Our sincere condolences. Rick was a wonderful person. We met only once when he and his wife came to Vancouver in the summer of 2024. We had a dinner together. It was a delightful occasion. Rick was easy going and very open. Although our meet-up was the first time, we chatted like old friends. Rick shared his insights in culture, finance, politics, etc. We were so impressed with the depth and breadth of his knowledge in various topics. We are deeply saddened by his untimely passing. We pray for his peaceful rest in heaven.

To Rick’s family: we are deeply saddened by his passing and offer our condolences to his loved ones. I write as Chair of the Riverview Adult Residential Center. Rick was an invaluable member. Thoughtful, kind, helpful, knowing the right questions t ask and when to ask them. He spoke fondly of his brother Lennie and was deeply motivated to do his best for the residents of the RARC. Hi was a genuine unsung hero and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
