Ross, Shirley Margaret, 84 (April 5th, 1940 – August 5th, 2024)
Pictou, N.S
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Shirley Margaret Ross on August 5th, 2024. At the Aberdeen Regional Hospital with family by her side. Shirley was the daughter of the late John James & Laura (Hawboldt) Ross.
After completing her PSW/CCA training at Camp Hill Veterans Memorial, Shirley went on to spend her nursing career providing care at various hospitals in Ontario. Returning to Pictou County for her retirement.
Shirley was the most beautiful person; her kindness and gentle nature were rare and will be missed by anyone lucky enough to have known her. Shirley enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones, going for a drive, bonfires on the beach and shopping. Even with her declining health these last few years Shirley always had a kind word to share and kept a positive outlook.
She is survived by her Siblings; Jean McCara (Scotsburn), Carol (Colin) Campbell (Caribou), Gary Ross (Green Hill) & Linda Sullivan (Black Point), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shirely was predeceased by her Parents, brothers - in - law Everett McCara & Delbert Sullivan along with sister-in-law Sandra Ross.
The family are grateful to the Aberdeen Hospital Doctor’s & Nurses, staff of the VON, EHS, Pictou Pharmacy and Shirley’s Special Niece Lisa for the care & kindness they provided.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.W. Angus Funeral Home. No visitation or service at request of the family. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
