To all the White clan..Evelyn and I saddened by ‘Loftus’ passing..after a long friendship going back to early 60s..and travelled a lot of roads an byways over those years..be they political,Scottish events like the Hector BiCentennial Festival of the Tartans Kilted golf tournament or just’ jawing’ about events of the day..they were always lively but never affecting friendships when differences surfaced…which weren’t often…He left his mark as an IMPORT TO PICTOU COUNTY WHO an adopted native son like many others of us who were not Land of the Hector natives..but always felt At HOME AND PITCHED IN NO MATTER THE TASK TO MAKE A BETTER COMMUNITY FOR ALL.He will be missed and long remembered for his unselfish contributions to life in Pictou County.
Sending a ‘Silent Pipers lament Flowers of the Forrest to my fellow Scottish friend’s cherished memory.
Sincerely,

Robbie and Sydney,
I spent many wonderful evenings at your mom and dad’s when we all lived in Plymouth. You two weren’t even born when I met them, and I remember so well how excited they were when each of you joined the family. Your dad was a terrific guy, always kind, caring and genuine. He will be missed by the countless people whose lives he touched, both personally and professionally. I will be thinking of you and your families in the days ahead.

I articled with MacKay Parker White Stroud and Langley in the 1970’s and practiced with the firm for many years . Bob was a true mentor and friend from whom I learned a lot about law and human nature , often the humorous side . Who could forget that great laugh .
God speed my friend .

The Bolton family of Halifax was saddened to learn of Bob’ s passing. Our fathers worked together for the CNR and our families lived near one another in
Sherwood Heights.
The White and Bolton children were similar in ages and Harriet and Bev were good friends.
Bob’s father visited our father often after he retired and so enjoyed the conversations. I suspect Bob’s father did most of the talking. He was great company.
Many good memories.
Sincere condolences.
Harriet, Sue, Michael and Jane Bolton

It was 51 years ago in 1973 when I joined the MacKay, Parker, White, MacKay & Stroud firm as a secretary. I will always remember the good times and laughter you brought to the office, Bob. I also enjoyed a few rides in that gorgeous blue corvette. May you rest in peace Bob. Sincere sympathy to the White family.

My wife and I wish to offer our heartfelt condolences to Bob's Family on the occasion of his recent passing .
Bob was a colleague of mine in the Provincial and Family Court of Nova Scotia for many years .He ran an efficient but caring Court and did not suffer fools ..At the same time ,on a personal level, he had an engaging personality and a hearty laugh .
We remember bumping into Bob and Doreen as we cruised across the Pacific Ocean; Lots libation and laughter shared while aboard and thereafter .
Bob was a proud Scot and shared his enthusiasm .
He was a gentleman of the old school.
With greatest sympathy,
Michael Sherar and Elizabeth DeLorey

I was frequently in Judge White's court in my early years of practice, and he made it clear he had no time for excuses or for people who thought orders were mere suggestions......I respect that. One day, circa 1993, I had mis-diarized an appearance and came in late, expecting the riot act. I fell on my sword, admitted it was entirely my fault, and asked that any repercussions not be upon the client. His Honour very graciously said, "these things happen, are you ready to proceed?" I never forgot the touch of class to a fumbling junior. Peace to the family.

Sincere condolences to Bob’s family and friends.
I served many years on the board of Summer St Industries with Bob and have fond memories of the strides made at that time to have it develop to what it has become. It was in no small measure due to his contribution. Rest in peace Bob.

I have fond memories of Bob and credit him for introducing me to CBC.
Doreen would pick me on Friday evening and I’d stay in town for part of the weekend. Saturday mornings were for puttering around with CBC radio in the background, particularly with Basic Black.
Sending my deepest condolences to his family.
May your memories bring you comfort during this difficult time.
